Boric acid
Molecular formula H3BO3, also known as normal boric acid. Boric acid can be divided into industrial boric acid, capacitor boric acid, reagent boric acid, medical boric acid and photographic boric acid according to different uses. Boric acid is a pure and multifunctional raw material containing boron oxide. Like borax, boric acid is a kind of industrial boride with wide application. In the glass and glass fiber industry, it is used to produce high-grade glass and glass fiber such as optical glass, acid resistant glass, organic boron glass, etc., which can improve the heat resistance and transparency of glass, improve the mechanical strength and shorten the melting time. It can reduce the thermal expansion of glazes and the curing temperature of glazes, so as to prevent crazing and de glazes and improve the luster and fastness of products. The addition of borate in celluloid material can change its oxidation reaction and promote the formation of "carbonization". Therefore, it can be flame retardant. Boric acid, used alone or together with borax, has a special effect on reducing the flammability of cotton tires in celluloid insulation materials, woodwork and mattresses. It is used as additive and cosolvent in the production of boron steel in metallurgical industry to make boron steel have high hardness and good rolling ductility. Boric acid can prevent the surface oxidation of metal welding, brazing and sleeve welding. It is also the raw material of ferroboron alloy. Due to the particularity of boron-10 isotopes, boron-10 has become a moderator and an efficient thermal neutron absorber in nuclear reactions. Therefore, it is indispensable for safety and control system in nuclear power plant. Special grade (SQ) boric acid is used in the nuclear industry, which can increase the proportion of boron-10.
Boric acid and its boron compounds have been widely used in light industry, textile and daily chemical industry, glass enamel ceramic industry, metallurgical industry, pharmaceutical industry, electromechanical industry, electronic industry, nuclear industry and high and new technology, flame retardant, leather, rust proof, personal health products, agriculture and many other fields, and have been widely used in various sectors of the national economy.
Boric acid shall meet the requirements of GB / t538-2006, Table II, quality requirements of boric acid
